Here's my story. When I was eighteen, I couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breath. I smoked and was 30 lbs overweight. And I didn't think much of myself, either!
Before long, I saw that my physical problems were mirrors of inner ones, and I vowed to change. Training – becoming fit through learning how to eat healthier, activity and a weight training program – soon led to more than a change in my appearance. I became more outgoing, more confident. I accomplished things I never would have dreamed I could do: Triathlons, Biathlons, Marathons, "half iron man" races, Adventure racing…it was endless what I wanted to do and accomplish.
Helping others accomplish their goals and transform themselves from the inside out is what motivates me to do what I do the way that I do it. It is a wonderful two-way interaction. I have fun. My clients have fun. They feel better and that makes me feel good. And feeling good about what I do only makes me a better trainer.
I love hearing people say "This is too tough" on Day One, and at the end of Year One having them say, "What's next?"
